Hub Arkush: NFL league meetings produce minimal news

ORLANDO — The NFL’s 2018 spring owners meetings wrapped up Wednesday with commissioner Roger Goodell offering not a hint of any discord between certain owners and Goodell’s office, concern over aggression between Donald Trump and the league and high-profile debates about officiating or progress on the sale of the Carolina Panthers.

The main accomplishment of the week was a reworking of the NFL’s catch rule that is basically the old rule minus any concerns about going to the ground or completing the process of the catch.

The biggest story of the week was the adoption of a new rule making it illegal for any player to lower his head and use it to make contact with another player.
