After the program’s best start to the season since 2021, Gonzaga University women’s tennis suddenly found itself in need of a big weekend. A 5-1 start to the season was followed by a three-match stretch where the Zags won a lone singles match.
The weekend GU (7-4) needed came in the form of two 4-0 sweeps over the likes of Montana (3-6, 1-0 Mountain West) and Seattle University (1-7) on back-to-back days.
“Our energy through and through was huge this weekend,” said head coach Natalie Pluskota-Hamberg. “That’s something we put a lot of emphasis on, and when you’ve got back-to-back matches like this at home, it’s essential.
