ESPN’s Jeff Borzello listed Gonzaga at No. 5 in his latest way-too-early top 25 rankings, recognizing the talent head coach Mark Few retained and brought in for the upcoming season.
The 2024-25 Zags will feature four of their five starters from last season while integrating four new transfers into the rotation.
However, despite the high praise Few has received for assembling this year’s squad, the 61-year-old hasn’t gotten enough credit for keeping the program’s long term future in mind.
Part of Few’s offseason transfer portal haul included Braden Smith, a 6-foot guard from Colgate who agreed to redshirt this season before entering the rotation in 2025-26.
