Following its second-consecutive ranked loss on Saturday, the Gonzaga men’s basketball team continued its recent slide in the rankings, dropping five spots to No. 13 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 Ppll — marking the first time this season that the Zags have found themselves outside the top 10.
GU’s (7-3) aforementioned defeat came at the hands of UConn (8-3) in Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. Despite being neck-and-neck with the Huskies for the entirety of the contest, the Zags ultimately faltered down the stretch, falling 77-71 after to several clutch buckets from UConn freshman Liam McNeeley.
