In its final tune-up before a month-long slew of neutral-site games, the No. 3 Gonzaga men’s basketball team cruised to an 84-41 victory over Long Beach State on Wednesday night at McCarthey Athletic Center.
Graham Ike and Khalif Battle each scored 15 points to lead the Zags (5-0), who have started the season with five consecutive wins for the first time since their 2021-22 campaign. Meanwhile, the Beach (1-4) is enduring its worst start since the 2020-21 season.
Long Beach State’s first basket came from an Austin Johnson floater in the opening minute, but the Beach went cold, failing to make another field goal for the next nine minutes and 54 seconds.
