It was a busy weekend for the Gonzaga University cross country program, with the women’s team competing at the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Friday, while both men’s and women’s teams raced at the Inland Empire Classic on Saturday.
The women’s team had a very successful weekend, finishing in first on Friday and fifth on Saturday. On Friday, women’s head coach Jake Stewart led his team into College Station, Texas to race in the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M. The Zags took care of business at the meet, finishing in first place in the women’s 6K, while capturing one program record, five new top-ten times and placing all eight runners in the top 100 runners from a field of 400.
