Gonzaga and Washington State certainly aren’t strangers when it comes to college hoops. Separated by a 77-mile stretch of US-195, the Zags and Cougars had a basketball rivalry that spanned 108 years and 149 games. However, ever since the Zags’ 69-60 victory in Pullman on Dec. 2, 2015, the formerly annual rivalry has laid dormant.
That ten-year drought will end on Saturday night when the Cougars (13-4, 4-1 WCC) come to the Kennel to face the No. 18 Zags. This time around, they do so as conference foes, and the outcome of this game could provide an early answer as to which team has what it takes to capture a conference title this season.
