Georgia's first-team defense dominates in G-Day scrimmage

They say defense wins championships. On Saturday, defense won Georgia’s annual G-Day scrimmage.

In front of 82,184 fans in Sanford Stadium, the defense dominated the offense all day. The first-team offense of the Red Team scored only one touchdown against the first-team defense of the Black Team, which cruised to a 21-13 victory.

Senior linebacker D’Andre Walker led the way for the Black Team, finishing the game with five tackles and two sacks. Junior cornerback Tyrique McGhee added five tackles and two broken-up passes.

For the Red squad, sophomore quarterback Jake Fromm finished 17-for-31 with 182 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
