NORMAL — Former Illinois State All-American linebacker Kye Stewart will return to his alma mater and join the football coaching staff after head coach Brock Spack announced on Monday the hiring of Stewart as outside linebackers coach.
Stewart spent the past two seasons as Alcorn State's defensive line coach.
“What I’ve heard about Kye, from his time as a player here and since he has become a coach, regarding his work ethic and character is tremendous,” Spack said. “Kye wanted to be back in the mix at his alma mater as a coach and my conversations with him only confirmed what I heard from Justin (Fuente) and Galen (Scott).
