LINCOLN — Travis Hill was a Husker All-American football player in 1992, when he had 82 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and four forced fumbles.
But Hill, who died this week at the age of 48 according to several of his ex-Husker teammates on social media, may have been best-remembered by fans for his interception on the first play of a most memorable game — a 52-7 rout of rival Colorado in 1992.
Hill caught the ball on a ricochet, rumbled to the Buffaloes’ 15 and then held his hands up for a long sideline-spanning celebration with teammates.
