The “#WhyNotJohn” Twitter movement to bring attention to senior quarterback John Wolford has taken flight.
Wake Forest’s athletics department launched the campaign on social media platforms Monday to gain recognition for the season Wolford has had. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder has completed 191 of 292 passes (65.4 percent) for 2,601 yards and 23 touchdowns, while being intercepted four times. He also has 567 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing, averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
While it’s unlikely to get Wolford into the Heisman Trophy conversation, it’s meaningful in garnering attention to land him all-Atlantic Coast Conference recognition or All-America status.
