There were noticeably louder thuds in Wake Forest’s third spring football practice, and that’s because for the first time the Deacons were in full pads.
“Part of it is that, in spring it’s only productive if you’re healthy. And I just thought, ‘We get this one practice in with pads and if we get anybody nicked up or anybody twists an ankle, then they’ve got 10 days off their feet,’” Coach Dave Clawson of Wake Forest said Friday.
The Deacons have held three of their 15 spring practices, and won’t be back on the practice field until March 12.
