The Dallas Cowboys could get a pass-rush boost from an unlikely source.
Randy Gregory is on track to apply with the NFL for reinstatement, sources tell Jon Machota of the Dallas News. Gregory, 25, the club's second-round pick in 2015, hasn't played in a game since the end of his second season, when he was appealing his third league-imposed suspension (10 games) for repeated violations of the NFL's substance-abuse program.
Gregory slid to the Cowboys as the 60th overall pick because of multiple failed drug tests in college that immediately placed him in the league's substance-abuse program upon arriving to the NFL.
