Columbia is bringing back Florida assistant Kevin Hovde as its new head basketball coach. He will continue with the Gators, who are in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, until the end of their season. Hovde was an assistant coach at the Ivy League program for five seasons from 2012-16, including two seasons alongside current Gators head coach Todd Golden. "We are thrilled to welcome Kevin Hovde back to the Columbia family," athletic director Peter Pilling said in a news release. "Our goal for our men's basketball program is to win Ivy League Championships, and we believe he is the right person to lead us there.
