When the NCAA announced last year that it would allow a 10th on-field assistant coach for the 2018 season, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney had to look no further than just down the hall to Lemanski Hall.
Hall had spent the last three seasons serving as a defensive analyst — meaning he could help in game planning and scouting of opposing teams but could have no on-field contact with players. Nor could he participate in recruiting.
Hall, who was a former teammate of Swinney’s at Alabama and an NFL veteran, joined the staff as the defensive ends coach.
