Chet Holmgren to miss 2022-23 season with foot injury

Former Gonzaga Bulldogs star and the No. 2 pick of the 2022 NBA Draft Chet Holmgren will miss the entirety of the 2022-23 season because of a Lisfranc injury in his right foot, the Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Thursday.

Holmgren suffered the injury while defending LeBron James during the CrawsOver Pro-Am event in Seattle this past weekend.

Holmgren, who averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game for the Zags in his only season, demonstrated his unique “unicorn” prospect status. Throughout a short stint in the Summer League, he cemented his value, shooting 42 percent from long range and averaging 14.
