In their final game of the series with the Portland Pilots (13-19, 1-8 WCC), Gonzaga (20-10, 9-3 WCC) won 14-5 to complete the sweep at home behind fantastic relief pitching and resiliency.
Early on, it was not looking good for the Zags. Hunter Wells started for GU and he struggled from the get go.
In the first inning, Wells gave up one run, but it could have been worse seeing that two runners were left in scoring position. The real damage was done in third, where he gave up four earned runs and was not able to record an out.
