PHILADELPHIA — Jordan Howard had a game-high 20 touches and 82 rushing yards vs. his former team Sunday in the Eagles' 22-14 victory.
The soft-spoken ex-Bears Pro Bowler admitted "I just did a little more talking than I usually do," but it wasn't necessary: his play spoke volumes.
Howard required a posse of tacklers early on, when he helped set the tone for a resurgent Eagles run game against an undermanned Bears defensive front. He was untouched on the game-deciding score, a 13-yard touchdown run that saw Jason Kelce and Brandon Brooks generate great movement. Howard was on the winning end of a backfield colission with Eddie Jackson on one would-be run stop that instead went for a first down and also lowered the boom in pass pro on a blitzing Sherrick McManis in the fourth quarter.
