Balanced scoring propels Boston College past Loyola-Maryland

Donald Hand Jr. scored 15 points and had 14 rebounds to lead Boston College to an 82-61 victory over Loyola-Maryland on Tuesday in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Hand did all of his scoring in the second half. He made 3 of 4 3-point attempts and also finished with three assists and two steals. Chad Venning made 7 of 14 field goal attempts and added a game-high 17 points for the Eagles, who made 11 of 21 3-point shots. Roger McFarlane (12), Fred Payne (10) and Dion Brown (10) also scored in double figures for BC (3-1). The Eagles had a 49-29 advantage in rebounding, including a 22-7 edge in offensive boards.
