Frank Gore is going back where it all began.
The 34-year-old, who ranks fifth on the NFL's all-time rushing list, will sign a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins, Sirius XM's Craig Mish first reported Thursday.
Gore, a Coral Gables native who starred at the University of Miami, needs only 76 more yards to surpass Hall of Famer Curtis Martin and move into fourth place in the rushing record book.
The former 49er and Colt is one of the game's more universally respected players and his fit in the Miami locker room, whose culture Adam Gase has attempted to clean up with some high-profile ousters, should be excellent.
