AUBURN — With Jarrett Stidham continuing to recover from offseason shoulder surgery, questions swirled for Auburn’s coaching staff before Saturday’s A-Day Game.
But one thing was made clear — the Tigers’ defensive unit is stout.
“What stood out to me was that our defense played extremely well, which they’ve done all spring,” Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn said after the Orange team beat the Blue squad 18-10. “I feel good about our defense.”
As Stidham, who threw for 3,158 yards and 18 touchdowns in 14 games last season, watched from the sidelines, Malzahn and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Chip Lindsey sent out four different quarterbacks, including early enrollee Joey Gatewood.
