NEW ORLEANS — Appalachian State will return to Alabama for its bowl game this season. It will just be a different city, although it will involve a familiar opponent.
The Mountaineers will play in the Dollar General Bowl against Toledo on Dec. 23 in Mobile, Ala. Appalachian State beat Toledo 31-28 in the Camellia Bowl last season in Montgomery, Ala.
Appalachian State finished the 2017 season with an 8-4 overall record, 7-1 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Mountaineers recorded their second Sun Belt Conference co-championship this season with Troy, which finished 10-2, 7-1 in the league.
