The veteran offseason QB plot thickened Thursday, when Cincinnati Bengals passer A.J. McCarron won his grievance with the club and was officially declared an unrestricted free agent, per reports.
At the root of the 27-year-old quarterback's case against the Bengals was their placing him on the non-football injury list with a shoulder injury to begin his rookie 2014 season. That move potentially would've earned Cincinnati an additional season of team control over the former Alabama standout, though an independent arbitrator ruled it wasn't a necessary move and McCarron will be allowed to test the open market next month.
