Jack Diesing is ending a 43-year career as an Omaha insurance executive while keeping his “side” job: head of College World Series of Omaha Inc.

Starting Jan. 1, John D. Diesing Jr. will have more time to serve as the volunteer chairman and president of the Omaha group that backs the baseball series, as well as for his other civic causes and the duties of a typical retiree: travel and family time.
