Cook transferred to Gonzaga after four seasons at Southern Illinois (one injury shortened) in which he demonstrated the ability to score points and serve as a tenacious on-ball defender. When he arrived at Gonzaga, he immediately filled a need for veteran leadership in the backcourt and someone who could share point guard duties with Jalen Suggs.
