If you ask the common college basketball fan to name a player on the Gonzaga team, most likely they are gonna call out Rui Hachimura or “that lanky guy from Japan”. Rui jumped onto the national scene last year with his exciting coast-to-coast plays and rim-rattling dunks. This season, Rui is considered one of the most exciting players to watch in all of NCAA basketball and I believe should be considered as one of the top preseason candidates for the Naismith National Player of Year.
In his sophomore season, Rui averaged 11.6 PPG and 4.7 RPG while being selected to the All-WCC 1st Team.
