Daejon Davis, a 6’3 guard out of Garfield High School in Seattle, Washington, recently released his top-five college choices, and Gonzaga is still in the running.
Gonzaga is facing off against Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Stanford. He originally committed to UW, before decommitting earlier this year, although the Huskies remain in the running. The 247 Sports Composite ranks Davis as the No. 42 prospect in the Class of 2017, the top prospect in Washington and the second-best combo guard in the nation.
Obviously, if the Zags are able to get Davis, it would be a coup. Seattle has been a very fertile area for high-level basketball prospects for quite some time, but generally speaking, that hasn’t been Gonzaga’s realm.
