NASSAU, Bahamas – Zach Johnson described his victory at this year’s Open Championship as “extreme awe,” but he was pretty reserved after winning his second major this year. Such was not the case Sunday afternoon.
Upon learning that his Iowa Hawkeyes had been invited to the Rose Bowl, Johnson tried to control his excitement, with a tournament taking place in the background. Johnson pumped his fists and the enthusiasm fought through with a muted, “Yeah!!!”
Iowa lost the Big Ten championship game Saturday night to Michigan State, but will face Stanford in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 1.
