Yet, the Class of 2017 golfer from Taipei City, Taiwan, leads the AJGA invitational at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga.
Hou shot 1-under 71 Thursday to move to 4 under and build a two-shot lead over Paphangkorn Tavatanakit of Thailand. Hou did make four bogeys, but made up for those mistakes with five birdies.
The round of the day went to Rachel Heck, a Class of 2020 golfer from Memphis, Tenn.
