Youngsters taking LPGA by storm, racking up wins

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas — Kids these days. They grow up so fast. Lydia Ko, 18, finally got her learner’s permit and a shiny new Lexus RC F Sports Coupe. Lexi Thompson bought a fully furnished model home in Delray Beach, Fla. The six-time LPGA winner, who turned 21 on Feb. 10, plans to move this spring.

“It’s pretty crazy to think I feel like I’m a veteran now that I’m almost 21,” Thompson said. “This is my sixth year.” (Gasp!)

There are nine teens on the LPGA, and 11 players who are 20. One of those 20-year-olds, South Korean Hyo Joo Kim, claimed the first victory of 2016 recently at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic.
