Amy Yang made some history with her blistering finish Sunday at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship.
Yang birdied every hole on the back nine posting a 10-under-par 62 to finish tied for fourth in South Korea.
Yang’s nine consecutive birdies equaled Hall of Famer Beth Daniel’s record for most birdies in a row in an LPGA event. Daniel set the mark in the second round of the Phillips Invitational in Austin, Texas, in 1999. Yang’s 27 on the back nine also equaled the record for the lowest nine-hole score in an LPGA event.
“I don’t know what just happened,” Yang said afterward.
