Wyndham week gives Presidents Cup captain Jay Haas plenty to think about

He was being a father, mostly. That was the primary reason for Jay Haas venturing down to Greensboro, N.C., and stopping in at the Wyndham Championship, the chance to catch up with his son, Bill, an attractive incentive.

All right, so Jay Haas has been on the PGA Tour landscape for parts of five decades, and clearly he knew if he wandered around he’d bump into other reasons to pique his interest. Tiger Woods was hitting balls? Jay Haas stopped and watched and chatted for a few minutes. And he caught up briefly with Davis Love III, who was on the range and preparing for a practice round with Woods.
