GREENSBORO, N.C. – Jay Haas walked the line at the practice tee at Sedgefield Country Club on Tuesday when he stopped to greet a familiar face. The U.S. Presidents Cup captain shook hands with Tiger Woods before leaning in for a "bro hug."
“What are you doing here?” Tiger Woods asked in a tone of genuine surprise.
The same could be said for Woods, who has never before competed in the Wyndham Championship.
To understand how Woods ended up at the Wyndham, a tournament he has skipped since turning pro in 1996, let’s go back to July 1, when tournament director Mark Brazil made a recruiting trip to the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia with one big prize in mind.
