Wth Deere victory, Jordan Spieth’s odds to win British Open improve to 5-1

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – Jordan Spieth maintains his favored status among Las Vegas oddsmakers to win his third major of the year after a two-hole playoff victory against Tom Gillis on Sunday at the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Ill.

According to the latest odds by Westgate LV Superbook, Spieth is a 5-1 choice to win the 144th British Open and the third leg of the modern Grand Slam.

Spieth, 21, of Dallas, was elevated to the top pick last week when World No. 1 Rory McIlroy pulled out of the British Open because of an ankle injury incurred while playing soccer with friends on the eve of last week’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
