ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – There was a time when Australian David Graham had all but given up on getting into the World Golf Hall of Fame. He counted eight PGA Tour victories (they include two majors) on his resume, but his more-than-30 victories were sprinkled across the globe. As each year passed, fewer and fewer voting members really were versed in the quality of Graham’s game, and fewer and fewer realized the impact Graham had made as a player.
More than a year ago, when it looked ahead to its Class of 2015, Hall organizers shook up the election process, naming a 16-person Selection Commission and shifting emphasis away from a mass vote and more toward soliciting greater input from Hall of Fame members.
