Woods undergoes 'successful' follow-up procedure

Tiger Woods announced Friday that he has undergone a "successful" procedure as a follow-up to his latest back surgery.

According to a release on his site, the procedure was performed on Oct. 28 and intended to "relieve discomfort." It was performed in Park City, Utah, where Woods also had his most recent microdiscectomy surgery on Sept. 18.

"It's one of those things that had to be done," Woods said. "I have an outstanding team of doctors, and I'll be back as soon as I can."

While the announcement of Woods' September surgery listed his estimated return to competition as "early 2016," this latest release indicates that there is "no timetable" for Woods' return to the PGA Tour.
