Woods plays solo for first time since 1997

DUBLIN, Ohio – For the first time since the 1997 Mercedes Championship Tiger Woods set out at a PGA Tour event playing by himself on Sunday at the Memorial.

Woods teed off at 8:10 a.m. (ET) and completed his round of 74 two hours and 51 minutes later before an increasingly large, and supportive, gallery at Muirfield Village.

“The only thing that was close to something like that was when we had that storm at Congressional (2012 AT&T National),” Woods said. “Me and Brendon [de Jonge] out there playing, my foundation crew and that was it.
