Woods Has Worst 72-Hole Performance at Players

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — One hole was all it took for Tiger Woods to turn a reasonable round into his worst 72-hole position at The Players Championship.

Woods put a 7 on his scorecard for the third time this week — a triple bogey on the 14th hole — that erased three birdies and led to a closing 72 Sunday at the TPC Sawgrass. Only three other players had a worse score over four rounds. He was in a tie for 69th, and would not move much higher.

Woods called it a mixed bag of good shots and bad ones.
