DUBLIN, Ohio – It’s where everything could have gone terribly wrong.
Tiger Woods continued his tee ball struggles on Friday at the Memorial hitting just 5 of 14 fairways on Day 2, but it was at the par-5 fifth hole where the five-time winner of Jack Nicklaus’ event avoided disaster and set the tone for the day.
After a drive that drifted well right of the fairway, Woods had few options with tree trouble, a bad lie and a creek just 80 yards away.
“I didn't know if I could carry it the lie was so bad,” Woods said.
