Confirming news that had been expected for months, Tiger Woods committed Friday to the season-opening Frys.com Open.
Woods will be making his second start at the northern California event, and first since 2011 when he finished T-30 at CordeValle Golf Club.
Woods' appearance will fulfill an obligation stemming from his appearance at the 2012 Turkish Airlines World Golf Final. The unsanctioned event took place during the same week as the Frys.com Open, and as part of the waiver each of the eight participants signed with the PGA Tour, they agreed to play the Frys.
