With Olympics in mind, Inbee Park withdraws from Women’s British Open

Inbee Park has withdrawn from the Ricoh Women’s British Open. Park, who last competed in June at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship where she qualified for the LPGA Hall of Fame, has been rehabbing a left thumb injury that has plagued her all season.

The 2016 Women’s British Open will be contested July 28-31 on the Marquess course at Woburn Golf Club in Buckinghamshire, England. Organizers are expecting record crowds due to its proximity to London.

Park, who won last year’s Women’s British, remains hopeful about competing for South Korea at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro next month.
