Aaron Wise raced out to a big lead and then held off a charging Beau Hossler en route to winning the Pacific Coast Amateur Friday at Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.
Wise, a Lake Elsinore, Calif., native who plays his college golf at Oregon, reached 8 under at one point during his final round, but a double bogey at the par-4 16th dropped him to 6 under. He closed with a pair of pars to finish with a final-round, 4-under 66 and get in the clubhouse at 6 under.
