After struggling in his first two amateur starts since an emergency appendectomy in May, Will Zalatoris is back in contention.
Through three rounds of the Pacific Coast Amateur, the Wake Forest sophomore shares the lead with SMU's Bryson DeChambeau at 4 under.
Zalatoris, who missed the cut at the Trans-Miss Championship and tied for 62nd at the Southern Amateur prior to arriving at Eugene (Ore.) Country Club, shot 1-under 69 on Thursday. DeChambeau, the reigning NCAA individual champion, carded a third-round 68 on the course that will host next year's NCAA Championship.
