PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Will MacKenzie isn’t sure whether to call his putting grip a claw or a saw nor does he know how long the magic will last. All he knows for sure is this: “The putter is just saving my life right now,” he said.
MacKenzie rode a hot putter to a 4-under 67 in the second round of the Valspar Championship and a 36-hole total of 5-under 137.
MacKenzie isn’t shy to admit that his putter has been more foe than friend this season.
“I’m like 290th in putting and there aren’t even that many people out there,” he said.
