Wie to test injured hip, ankle at Canadian Pacific Women's Open

Michelle Wie, competing for the first time since she withdrew from the Ricoh Women’s British Open, is out to prove to Juli Inkster and the rest of Team USA that her left hip/ankle has healed enough to participate in next month’s Solheim Cup.

Wie tees off at 7:59 a.m. local time in Vancouver at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open. She told Golfweek she has played the past three days pain-free, and took off her leg brace on Wednesday.

“Hope I keep it off for the rest of the week,” she said, “and the rest of the year.
