In 1972, basketball legend George "The Iceman" Gervin debuted the Nike Blazer basketball shoe. Over the years, the shoe has transitioned from the hardwood to the skate park to every day sportswear. Now, the shoe will move to the golf course.
Michelle Wie will wear the new Women's Nike Blazer golf shoe at this week's Evian Championship. Wie's high-tops will be hot pink with a camouflage Swoosh and a performance outsole engineered for traction.
“Michelle asked us to create a high top golf shoe,” said Joel Greenspan, footwear designer for Nike Golf. “She wanted to feel more support throughout her swing and greater connection to the ground.
