LANCASTER, Pa. – Seconds after Michelle Wie walked off the interview podium, her mother, Bo, asked, “Ice now?” There will be no range session this afternoon. Wie's left hip and ankle pain have ratcheted up during the past two days at the U.S. Women’s Open, but she’s fighting through it. She climbed the leaderboard with her second consecutive 2-under 68 at Lancaster Country Club and sits at 2-under 208, six strokes back of Amy Yang and in a tie for fifth place.
“It was a long day today,” Wie said. “I’m glad to be done with it.”
The most difficult shots for Wie are the uphill ones because it’s painful for her to get through to her left side.
