Wie slips, WDs Ricoh Women's British Open

TURNBERRY, Scotland – Michelle Wie withdrew from the Ricoh Women’s British Open Friday after slipping and falling in the rain coming off the 13th tee and aggravating her injured left ankle and foot.

“I was walking down with my hands in my pocket and just completely slipped, and my foot kind of went forward,” Wie said. “It’s a little bit aggravated right now.”

Wie said she actually tweaked her left foot Friday on the front nine stepping in one of the many small nooks and crannies that run through Trump Turnberry’s wispy grass but continued to play until slipping on the wet grass coming off the 13th.
