In winds gusting to 30 mph at Ko Olina Golf Club in Kapolei, Hawaii, 14 players failed to break 80 in Wednesday's first round of the LPGA's Lotte Championship.
Among them was the 2014 champion, Michelle Wie, who shot 80.
"I hit a lot of good shots," Wie told reporters. "Just got a little bit unlucky, a couple of unlucky bounces. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day."
Most of the damage in Wie's round came on the front nine, where she double-bogeyed the second hole, added bogeys at the fifth, sixth, eight and ninth and turned in 42.
