HARRISON, N.Y. – Michelle Wie’s ailing left hip will be tested on Westchester Country Club’s rolling terrain at this week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
“We’re coming up with ways to walk up these hills,” Wie cracked Tuesday. “You might see me walk backwards, walk sideways, maybe crawl a couple of times, but I’ll make it up the hills.”
Sometimes you’ve got to laugh to keep from crying.
Wie withdrew after the first round of the Kingsmill Championship three weeks ago with bursitis in her left hip. After missing the cut playing through pain at the ShopRite Classic two weeks ago, she withdrew before the start of last week’s Manulife Classic.
